Between S Laurel Ave and S Orlando Ave

I love exploring LA and have acquired quite the list of favorite spots. Skip the homogenized scene at The Grove and check out what's just down the block on W 3rd St. Bring money to valet if you want to avoid the hassle and stress of trying to find a parking spot!

Food + Drink

Verve Coffee Roasters

8051 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA

I'm a NorCal girl born and raised so I love the fact that this hometown Santa Cruz born coffee shop has migrated south to Los Angeles. Their espresso drinks are rich, caramelly, and deeply satisfying. I love coming here to work in the midst of buzzing LA. So grab your laptop, get caffeinated, and get some work done.

Must-try

Cortado
Avocado Toast

For when you gotta get your health on this salad spot is a must. I like that they serve seasonal veggies and list the farms that they buy their produce from. It makes me feel the connection between what I buy and who it helps support.

Must-Try

Seasonal Specialties Menu

What makes this Carmela Ice Cream location so special? Besides the delicious seasonal ice cream, there is secret room behind what looks like a giant freezer door. It has a photo booth and seating area. It's a fun spot for a date night with your favorite [ice cream] lover!

Must-try

Strawberry Buttermilk
Waffle Cone

Mouth-watering tacos, delicious margaritas, and killer guacamole. Check, check, and check! This Mexican spot is super tasty and a trendy step above. They have a lively happy hour and everything on the menu is outstanding. My favorites are tacos de Papa, tacos de carnitas, and jicama shrimp tacos (thin jicama slices act as the tortilla).

Must-try

Guacamole
Tacos De Papas

I love coming to Joan's on Third to dream about hosting dinner parties and imagine all the gourmet groceries and cheeses I would buy! And, of course, having my favorite lunch, the fried chicken sandwich.

Fried Chicken Sandwich

A true French brassiere treat, you will feel like you have taken a mini-vacay to Paris. It's easy to walk right by this this understatedly cool spot so keep you eye out for the sidewalk sign. Dress in your best French chic outfit and enjoy!

Must-Try

Parisian Omlette
French Macaron

Shopping

Shopaholics Sample Sales

8032 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA

If you are looking for a special occasion dress this is the spot for you. Oh, and everything is 50–80% off retail prices! Most of the sizes are X-Small to Small, but you never know. This little boutique has a great selection of Australian designers, a super friendly helpful staff, and a fun communal dressing room. It can sound intimating to change in front of strangers but it's great to ask for other's outfit opinions if you are shopping by yourself.

favorite brands

C/MEO Collective
Finders Keepers

This brand exudes the 'cool-girl' factor with their luxe staples and that Scandinavian vibe I love so much. Everything feels easy, versatile, and something you will have forever. The minimal looks have a bit of a rock-n-roll edge which is a perfect fashion combo!
